Jácquez Cruises to Shutout Victory Wednesday, September 2nd , 1903 Pedro Jácquez dominated the Vieques Esqueletos with a brilliant 5-hit shutout in the 3-0 Yabucoa Dulceros triumph at Parque de Vieques. The Yabucoa hurler fanned 2 and walked 1 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager. "He really kept us in check today," Esqueletos skipper Teófilo García said in postgame comments. "Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away. We took some pathetic swings." In 32 starts this season, Jácquez has recorded 22 wins and absorbed 11 losses.
