Lamkin Muzzles Maricao Bats Monday, August 10th , 1903 Dennis Lamkin shut out the Maricao Cafeteros, 1-0, on a 3-hit masterpiece for the Arroyo Telegrafistas at Estadio Municipal de Arroyo. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Arroyo skipper Rolando Cervantes said afterward. Lamkin registered 7 strikeouts and issued no walks in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Maricao manager Ernesto Camarillo after the defeat.
