Batteries Reel Off Another Win
The Halifax Batteries rode a solid performance from 30-year-old starting pitcher Teócrito Salinas to a win, beating the Levis Fourches, 8-2, at Batteries Field. The Batteries, now 12-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.

The Fourches had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Batteries going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 37-year old first baseman Bill MacPherson came to the plate. MacPherson hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 cutter from Levis hurler Alberto Cortés. It was MacPherson's 7th home run of the year.

"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said MacPherson.
