Maidens Beat Limerick, 4-3

The Limerick Gandelows and Derry Maidens provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Derry Maidens picked up a win at Gandelows Park, taking down the Limerick Gandelows, 4-3. Starting pitcher Osheen Tully was a big reason why. Tully, now 14-15, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs.
San Juan, Puerto Rico-born Eliseo Garfias came through in the clutch. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Maidens trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Derry on top.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Derry manager Daniel Luscombe. "That's what Osheen is right now."
The win puts the Maidens at 57-62, while the Gandelows drop to 70-49.
