Both teams had their chances, but the Edinburgh Claymores eventually prevailed.

The Edinburgh Claymores got a marvelous performance from pitcher Avelino Oliva. The right-hander kept the Perth offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 2-1 Edinburgh victory at Claymores Stadium. The last-place Claymores improved to 47-62.

Edinburgh took a 2-1 lead on Robert Wright's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Wright hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Perth pitcher Aidan Grant visibly frustrated.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Wright said.
