Gill Dominant in Fog Victory
|
In a low-scoring game between the London Fog and the Sheffield Talons, pitcher Lester Gill was masterful on the mound. The London left-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. With the win, the Fog hiked their record to 56-20.
The famously hardworking Gill handled the Talons all day, notching 5 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 5 hits. Gill, who is tied for 9th in the BFE&W in strikeouts with 76, goes to 10-9 on the year with 76 strikeouts.
"Some games build character," said London manager Harry Deane. "Like this one."
