In a low-scoring affair between the Ceiba Picudos and the Canovanas Chupacabras, pitcher Sancho Rodrigues was the difference between victory and defeat. The Ceiba left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Picudos win. Ceiba is 58-73 and Canovanas, with the loss, 63-70.

There were several reasons the Picudos beat the Chupacabras, but one factor was Hortensio Cisneros. In the top of the second, the Ceiba shortstop came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.

"I'm not ready to sign up for AARP yet," said Rodrigues.
