Arribenos Win in Glorious Fashion, 6-5
|
The Utuado Arribenos overcame a good performance by San Sebastian first baseman Tom Swyers to knock off San Sebastian, 6-5, at Parque de los Arribeños. Swyers went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Marco Valencia came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. With the win, Utuado pushed its record to 75-58.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Utuado first baseman Storm Peck, facing Gervasio Torres, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Arribenos the 6-5 win.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Utuado manager Desiderio Arias.
