Yauco Corsos starter Luis Gallardo turned in a top-notch performance against the Lajas Marcianos at Parque de los Corsos. The result was a win for the Corsos, 3-1. Yauco is now 70-63, Lajas 68-64.

Veteran catcher Teobaldo Martínez came through in a pinch for the Corsos. In the bottom of the fifth, the 41-year-old Martínez hit a 2-run single on a first pitch changeup from Mercuriano Mejía. It enabled the Corsos to take the lead. For the game, Martínez went 1 for 3.

"Tough loss," said Lajas manager Meliteo Anguino. "But we'll rebound from it."
