The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

The Inverness Thistles scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Aberdeen Granite at Ballpark of Aberdeen. Inverness pitcher Matthew McKenzie held his own in the contest. McKenzie, who is tied for 8th in the BFS&I in wins with 5, went the distance for Inverness. He gave up 3 runs on 10 hits.

Benjamín Álvarez, who is tied for 5th in the BFS&I in total bases with 63, had a direct impact on the outcome. Álvarez contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Inverness up, 4-2.

Aberdeen manager Fraser Sinclair said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

With the win, Inverness upped its record to 20-14.
