Inverness picked up a win at Inverness Fields, bumping off the Glasgow Shipwrights, 7-1. Pitcher Matthew McKenzie was a major reason the Thistles emerged victorious. The winner was McKenzie. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Ramón Piña. The victory gives Inverness a record of 18-12.

Benjamín Álvarez had a big 3-run home run for the Thistles in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Inverness leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a sinker from Ramón Piña, who is tied for 2nd in the BFS&I in quality starts with 7, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Thistles on top, 5-1.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said McKenzie after the game.
