Arroyo beat Juncos in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Arroyo Telegrafistas topped the Juncos Valencianos, 5-4, in Liga Betances action at Estadio Municipal de Arroyo. The standout performance belonged to Arroyo pitcher and Carolina, Puerto Rico, native Solón Báez. Báez yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 15-15. Ignacio Rivera closed it out for his 6th save.
Carlos Morales was vital to the Arroyo win. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the fourth with two out, Morales hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-1, in favor of the Telegrafistas.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Arroyo manager Rolando Cervantes.
Arroyo is in third place in the Liga Betances Sureste with a record of 57-70.
