Limerick 9-1 After Beating Bards

The Limerick Gandelows picked up a win at Gandelows Park, dropping the Belfast Bards, 4-3. Luis de Paula was the difference-maker. Asdrúbal Romero was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Gandelows have hit the ground running, raising their record to 9-1. While it's still too soon to talk about Limerick hoisting their 1st Round 2 trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
Oisín Casey had a big run-scoring double for the Gandelows in the bottom of the third inning. With Limerick leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Finney Stone and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gandelows ahead, 4-0.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said de Paula.
