The home crowd had a good time watching the Glasgow Shipwrights and Edinburgh Claymores get after it.

The Edinburgh Claymores got a good effort from starter Gustavo de Miguel in defeating the Glasgow Shipwrights at Claymores Stadium. The final score was 7-2. The win moves Edinburgh to a record of 1-2.

There were several reasons the Claymores beat the Shipwrights, but one factor was Sam Russell. In the bottom of the second, the Edinburgh shortstop came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Russell told a Edinburgh News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
