The rain came, as predicted, but the Limerick Gandelows and Galway Harbourmasters were able to complete their ballgame.

The Limerick Gandelows got a good effort from starter Luis de Paula in defeating the Galway Harbourmasters at Gandelows Park. The final score was 4-2. Limerick goes to 2-0.

The Gandelows got a big at-bat from first baseman Dennehy Miller. For the game, Miller went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Limerick a 3-1 lead.

"I can't say enough about Luis," said Limerick manager Barclay Cummings. "He stepped up when we needed him."
