Matadioses Win 2-1 Walk-Off
|
The Carolina Tumbabrazos wasted an impressive 8.2-inning effort from starter Afrodisio Alcalá, falling, 2-1, to the Anasco Matadioses at Jardines de los Matadioses. Stuart Boyle picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Afrodisio Alcalá suffered the loss. The win gives Anasco a record of 12-6.
Zenón Zamboca was the walk-off hero for Anasco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Matadioses catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Tough loss," said Carolina manager Leo Reyes. "But we'll learn from it."
