Rio Grande and Coamo put this game in the books despite some rain.

The Rio Grande Cotorras beat the Coamo Termales, 9-5, at Recinto Atlético del Noreste. Rio Grande catcher Rafael Zepeda had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Rio Grande starter Mario Cordero was credited with the win after throwing 131 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 2-1.

The Cotorras got an important contribution from shortstop Sam Rigby, who in the bottom of the second hit a 1-1 fastball to right for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Cotorras ahead, 3-0.

"We came out aggressive," said Cotorras manager Prisco Aguilera. "We came out swinging the bats."

With the win, Rio Grande is 11-4.
