The Quebradillas Corsarios beat the Guanica Amigos, 5-4, in 10 innings. Quebradillas starter Nehemías Ruiz pitched a gem. Ruiz, now 13-16, was the winner. In 10 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. Quebradillas is now 72-49, Guanica 65-57.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 23-year old third baseman Luis Campos had a chance to be the hero. Guanica pitcher Héctor Delgado had other ideas. But with one out, Campos hit a run-scoring single. The Corsarios had themselves a dramatic win.

"This is a resilient bunch," said Quebradillas manager Pablo Tovar.
