The game between Orocovis and Vega Alta is in the books, despite a little rain.

The Orocovis Caciques powered past the Vega Alta Martilleros, 12-7, at Coliseo Carlos Mujica. Aureliano Espinoza provided some of the pop. La Fantasía was 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ricardo Rojas picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 6 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 14-15.

One of the clutch hits for Orocovis came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with two out, Albán López, who is tied for 6th in the LB in doubles with 24, hit a run-scoring single to put the Caciques up, 9-7. For the game, the second baseman went 1-5 with a walk.

Orocovis manager Evaristo López was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

The Caciques lead the Liga Betances Centro by a game.
