The fans at Estadio Capitolino witnessed quite a game.

The Maunabo Artilleros wasted an impressive 12.1-inning effort from starter Avelino Saldívar, falling, 2-1, to the San Juan Metropolitanos in 14 innings at Estadio Capitolino. Hansel Portuondo came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. His record now stands at 7-3.

The decisive blow was delivered by Lester Burton in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Felipe Estrada to win the game for San Juan. The home crowd went nuts.

"It was a test of wills," said Gus Alberts, the San Juan skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."

The win makes San Juan 63-57.
