Soggy conditions did not keep Naranjito and Las Piedras from playing their scheduled game.

The Naranjito Brillantes took Las Piedras pitcher Hernán Toruño's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Parque de los Brillantes. The final score had Naranjito getting past the Menestrales, 9-4. Toruño went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 5. Bolívar Gallegos picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-0 on the season. He struck out 2 and walked 1 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 3 runs.

Early in the game, first baseman Dave Rafuse had a grand slam home run for Naranjito. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Brillantes on top, 7-3.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Rafuse said. "We did a good job of that today."

The third-place Brillantes lifted their record to 49-66.
