Chupacabras Rally Late to Clip Morovis
The Canovanas Chupacabras eked out a 3-2 win versus the Morovis Sanisalvos at Estadio de Morovis. Nobody did more than pitcher Luis Piñero. He was terrific. Piñero, who is tied for 8th in the LB in quality starts with 25, went the distance for Canovanas. He gave up 2 runs on 10 hits. The win elevated the Chupacabras to 62-51.

Canovanas used the timely hitting of Patricio Flores to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chupacabras on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Canovanas manager Héctor Martínez said.
