Rincon and Vieques took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Getting offensive support from Hipólito Vega, the Rincon Ingenieros topped the Vieques Esqueletos, 7-5. Vega went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI for the Ingenieros. Rincon reliever Anaxímenes Rodríguez picked up the win, raising his record to 8-10. José Hernández was tagged with the loss.
Eulalio Cepeda, the Rincon center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 3-2, Ingenieros. For the game, Cepeda went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Cepeda.
Today's win puts Rincon at 56-54, while Vieques falls to 60-47.
