The Florida Mogotes and Aibonito Frios played an entertaining game for Estadio Herodes García patrons.
Florida catcher Víctor Cruz contributed significantly to his team's 4-3 win over the Aibonito Frios. Cruz went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Mogotes. Adrián García was credited with the save, his 3rd in 3 tries.
Florida used the timely hitting of Luis Garza to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mogotes on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Garza.
Florida, at 54-53, holds down second place in the Liga Hostos Norte.
