Wet weather did not postpone the Toa Baja-Aibonito ballgame.

Starting pitcher Alberto Benítez gave the Toa Baja Jinetes a rock-solid effort. The Ponce, Puerto Rico native helped his team defeat the Aibonito Frios, 3-2, at Jardines de Aibonito. The first-place Jinetes now have a win-loss record of 71-28.

It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Benítez, who tallied 6 strikeouts in 7.2 innings while allowing just 2 hits. Benítez goes to 14-4 on the year with 75 strikeouts.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Aibonito manager Fernando Chávez said, following the tough loss.
