It wasn't easy but the San Juan Metropolitanos made it look that way.

Starter Gabriel Acuña shut out the Aguadilla Colmillos despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the San Juan Metropolitanos cruised to victory, 3-0. Acuña allowed only 4 hits and rang up 2 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

This season, Acuña has fashioned a 10-9 mark and 3.33 ERA in 189.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .228 against him and he has logged 74 strikeouts.
