A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Ceiba Picudos and Vega Baja Caneros.

A good performance from first baseman Luis Pérez helped the Ceiba Picudos defeat the Vega Baja Caneros, 8-4. Pérez was 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Picudos. Curcio Cruz earned the win for Ceiba. He lasted 8.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1.

Ceiba used a well-timed hit by Gaspar Mendoza to capture the win. The center fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Picudos ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Mendoza. "And not try to do too much."
