Soles Go Down to Defeat, 2-1
|
Naguabo Navegadores starter Tomás Pérez turned in a sterling performance against the Luquillo Soles, leading his team to a slim, 2-1 win. Karim Anbar, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save. The win puts Naguabo at 57-27 this season.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, Spike Stonehand was at the plate when Naguabo scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Navegadores to go in front, 2-1.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Pérez. "I think we showed that here."
