Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Patillas Cuervos as starter Carmelo Castillo shut them out, 1-0, at Campo Atlético de San Benito. The Rio Grande pitcher struck out 9 and walked 1 while allowing 5 hits.

"Castillo was good but he wasn't flawless," Patillas manager Jonás López said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Rio Grande, but this is on us."

So far this year, Castillo has compiled a 16-7 record with a 1.75 ERA.
