Morovis beat Hormigueros in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Morovis Sanisalvos locked up a win at Estadio de Morovis, knocking off the Hormigueros Romeros, 4-3. On the mound for Morovis was right-hander Fintan Williams. He played a major role in the triumph. The Sanisalvos go to 42-44, putting them first in the Liga Betances Centro.
Morovis went up, 4-3, on Ricardo Mendoza's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Mendoza hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Hormigueros pitcher José Reza feeling deflated.
"We've been playing some good baseball," Williams told the Morovis News. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
