Matadioses Earn Late 4-3 Win
The Anasco Matadioses electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.

The Anasco Matadioses picked up a win at Jardines de los Matadioses, topping the Mayaguez Capitanes, 4-3. On the mound for Anasco was right-hander Menelao Magaña. He played a principal role in the triumph. Magaña, who led the LH in innings pitched with 415.2 last year, went the distance for Anasco. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits.

Abelardo Monroy was the walk-off hero for Anasco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Matadioses first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Menelao -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Matadioses manager Polideuco Godínez. "He was the key to us winning."

The third-place Matadioses go to 32-53.
