Trujillo Alto Drops Another One, 8-2
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Vejigantes beat the Macabeos.
The Loiza Vejigantes racked up a win at Estadio de los Vejigantes, bumping off the Trujillo Alto Macabeos, 8-2. Francisco Peña, who started for Loiza, pitched effectively for his team. Loiza has now won 4 straight, while the Macabeos have lost 6 in a row.
Bannon Quinton, who finished 4th in the LH in slugging percentage with .497 last year, came through for Loiza with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third. The designated hitter went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 3 RBI.
"They just got us," said Trujillo Alto manager Ernesto Vásquez, "and that's all I can say."
