Combatientes Get Thrilling 3-2 Win
|
The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Cabo Rojo Combatientes had to overcome a good performance from Hormigueros pitcher Ross Taylor to claim a 3-2 win at Parque de los Romeros. Taylor went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Cabo Rojo pitcher Sebastián Vargas got the win. He's now 2-5. Victoriano Guerrero was tagged with the loss.
Pelayo Ramírez drove in one run against the Romeros. With the game tied in the top of the 15th inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Cabo Rojo in front, 3-2.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Cabo Rojo manager Dick Hunt.
The first-place Combatientes improved to 46-32.
