The Yauco Corsos had to overcome a fine effort from Rio Grande pitcher Ezequiel Vásquez to win, 2-1, at Coliseo Aldo Gallardo. Vásquez went 12.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The Corsos move to 33-41 with the win, while the Cotorras drop to 50-27.

The decisive blow was delivered by Pascual Ortiz in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a 2-run double off 17-year old left-handed pitcher Francisco González to win the game for Yauco. The home crowd went nuts.

"I was a little disappointed," said Rio Grande manager Prisco Aguilera. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
