Vieques Esqueletos starter Sílvano Flores pitched his team past the Naranjito Brillantes, 2-1. The third-place Brillantes have dropped 4 straight games.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Vieques. That's when 24-year old left fielder Garm Gijsbers hit a run-scoring double off Ricardo Chávez to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Flores.
