The Santa Isabel-Las Marias matchup turned into a real hit parade.
Santa Isabel designated hitter Peleo Lara had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Las Marias Citricos, 13-11. Boulos Haroun got the win, improving to 12-7. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 7 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 2.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Corceles took the lead, 6-4, when 20-year old shortstop Alexis Jacques drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
Corceles manager Paulino Salmerón wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
Their 34-41 record puts the Corceles third in the Liga Betances Metro Sur.
