The Ciales Galanes defeated the Rio Grande Cotorras, 8-7, in 14 innings in Liga Betances action at Parque de los Galanes. Ciales pitcher Hércules Serafín had a standout performance. Ernesto Ávila, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. At 35-38, the Galanes are currently first in the Liga Betances Centro.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 14th, Euríalo Menchaca wanted to seize the moment and deliver a clutch hit. Rio Grande pitcher Ezequiel Vásquez had other ideas. He wanted to end the Ciales rally. What happened next? With one out, Menchaca hit a 2-run single -- and the Galanes erupted in celebration.
