Bayamon Upended by Florida, 5-4
|
The Florida Mogotes overcame a pretty good performance by Bayamon designated hitter Cresencio Navía, beating the Lecheros, 5-4, at Estadio de Florida. Navía went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Mogotes.
The Mogotes used some clutch hitting to beat the Lecheros, a good example being the at-bat of Santiago Cortez in the bottom of the eighth. With two down, Cortez gave his team the lead, 5-4, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Florida manager Roberto Merlo.
