Metropolitanos Pull Out Late Win, 7-6
The San Juan Metropolitanos overcame a pretty good performance by Ciales left fielder Gervasio Bernal, beating the Galanes, 7-6, at Estadio Capitolino. Bernal was 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. San Juan reliever Hansel Portuondo snagged the win, upping his record to 3-2. José Peralta shouldered the loss. San Juan now has a record of 34-29 with the win.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Judá Guzmán, who finished 2nd in the LB in doubles with 39 in 1903, reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs. The Metropolitanos went on to win.

In postgame comments to the San Juan Today, Guzmán said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
