Ramírez Lifts Romeros to 4-2 Win
|
At Parque de los Romeros, the Ceiba Picudos and Hormigueros Romeros were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Hormigueros Romeros dealt the Ceiba Picudos a 4-2 loss at Parque de los Romeros. Ángel Ramírez was the star on offense. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Eusebio González got the win, improving to 4-10. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 9 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 0.
Ramírez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 cutter from Sancho Rodrigues, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Romeros a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Ramírez.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Ramírez after the game.
Hormigueros is now 31-28, while Ceiba is 27-32.
