Amargados Sneak Past Timoneles, 4-3

Angostura and Puerto La Cruz duked it out and the Amargados came out victorious.
The Angostura Amargados defeated the Puerto La Cruz Timoneles, 4-3, in Liga Este action at Estadio de Angostura. Angostura pitcher Enrique Ortiz had a standout performance. Ortiz got the win, improving to 4-4. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 3 runs.
Bonifazio Caccio found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Puerto La Cruz hurler Disibodo Bermúdez, the 18-year-old right fielder hit a sacrifice fly. His 41st RBI of the season put the Amargados on top, 4-3.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Ortiz. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
Angostura, at 51-48, holds down third place in the Liga Este.
