García Struts Stuff in Win Over Guatire
|
Víctor Hugo García was in a zone of his own most of the day, shutting out the Guatire Heroes on 4 hits.
"He was too darn good for us today," grumbled Guatire manager Dick McBride after the 1-0 loss to the Caracas Sultanes.
García finished with 1 strikeout and 2 walks in a strong outing.
In the postgame press conference, Caracas manager Símaco González said García "had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. He just pitched his butt off."
This year, García has made 9 starts, thrown 81.2 innings, fanned 11 batters and walked 14. His won-lost record is 6-2 with a 1.65 ERA.
