Viajeros Suffer 9-2 Road Loss

Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Coro Bizantinos take on the Barinas Viajeros.
Coro starter Alfie Fraser pitched well against the Barinas Viajeros at Estadio de Coro. The right-hander led his team to a win, 9-2. Coro, at 59-37, occupies first place in the Liga Oeste.
Coro took the lead with one out in the bottom of the first when Sebastián Gómez stroked a 2-run single. That made the score 2-0, in favor of Coro. For the day, Gómez went 2-4 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
"They just got us," said Barinas manager Brett Normand, "and that's all I can say."
