Crepusculares Rally to Nose Past Valencia

The Barquisimeto Crepusculares sent the home crowd home ecstatic.
Barquisimeto got an elite performance from starting pitcher Benjamín López in securing an extra-inning, 1-0 decision over the Valencia Industriales. Barquisimeto pitcher Eugenio Núñez got the win, upping his record to 4-1. Samuel Marshall got the loss.
When he batted in the bottom of the tenth, Edgar Soria had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. Valencia pitcher Samuel Marshall was determined not to let him. But with two outs, Soria hit a run-scoring single -- and the Crepusculares had a suspense-filled triumph.
Soria said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Barquisimeto, at 35-31, holds down third place in the Liga Oeste.
