Arribenos Suffer One-Run Loss at Ponce
The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

Ponce Senores starter Simeón Elizondo turned in an exceptional performance against the Utuado Arribenos at Estadio Radamés Martínez, resulting in a Ponce win, 2-1. Elizondo, who is on pace for 214 strikeouts this season, went the distance for Ponce. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits.

Rodolfo Garza's at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning was a big one for Ponce. Coming to bat with two out, a runner on 2nd and Ponce trailing 1-0, the catcher hit a run-scoring single.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Garza told the Ponce Gazette.
