Murcielagos Advance to Serie Eliminatoria
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Parque de los Guardacostas as the Serie Preliminar stretched to the final game.

It was the Camuy Murcielagos feeling the thrill of victory, with a 3-2 win over the Catano Guardacostas, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Serie Eliminatoria.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Catano manager Aureliano Espinosa. "Congratulations to Camuy, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was left fielder Eugenio López, who was named MVP. He hit .438 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Camuy Murcielagos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Canovanas Chupacabras - Naguabo Navegadores series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Serie Eliminatoria schedule will be announced after the Serie Preliminar finishes.
