The Rio Grande Cotorras picked up a win at Campo de los Chupacabras, knocking off the Canovanas Chupacabras, 5-4, in 10 innings. On the mound for Rio Grande was left-hander Julio Sánchez. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. The first-place Cotorras go to 35-21.

Rodrigo García drove in one run for Rio Grande. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tarasio Gallo. It was his 9th RBI of the season.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Sánchez.
