Nacogdoches Wins at Home to Take 4-3 Lead in CPF
The importance of Game 7 was not lost on Joaquín Espinosa.

In leading the Nacogdoches Roaches to a crucial, 9-2 victory over the Taos Artists at Roaches Park, the right-hander rose to the occasion, tossing 9 good innings. Espinosa threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball as the Roaches defended their home field to seize a 4-3 lead in the best-of-9 Championship of the Frontier.

Ananías Méndez backed the Nacogdoches cause in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Nacogdoches leading 1-0, he punched a run-scoring double.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Méndez told the Nacogdoches News.

Game 8 is scheduled for Thursday at Taos Grounds in Taos.
