3-1 Roaches Win Evens Series With Artists
Behind a bravura effort from starter Francisco García, the Nacogdoches Roaches topped the Taos Artists by the score of 3-1 and got their first win in the 1905 Championship of the Frontier. García threw 9.0 innings allowing 1 run for the Roaches. The win moves Nacogdoches into a 1-1 tie with Taos.

Nacogdoches used the timely hitting of Lino Montes to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Roaches on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"If you think about it, you're working your whole career to be in position to get a clutch hit or make a clutch play in the Championship of the Frontier," Montes said after the game. "That's what everything boils down to."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Taos Grounds in Taos.
