Melodeons Win to Tie Series with Regicides
Isaac Castro went the distance at Melodeon Grounds to drag the Bennington Melodeons back to parity with the New Haven Regicides. The right-handed Castro needed 106 pitches to get through the complete game effort, which the Melodeons won, 5-2. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Bennington took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, José Martínez stroked a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Melodeons.

"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Martínez, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Stuart Park in New Haven.
